A Closer Look: Online Configuration Tool

A Closer Look: Online Configuration Tool

While we have been busy working on resolving wood plank printing issues, developing LED rails, and finishing up the final STLs, we have outsourced the development of the Online Configuration Tool.

Recently we reviewed the latest project milestone with the developer and thought it would be a good opportunity to give our backers a Closer Look...

 StageTop Online Configuration Tool

Introducing the StageTop Online Configuration Tool (name subject to change)

The Online Configuration Tool is broken up into 3 sections...

The Component Library (left, red) - breaks all the StageTop components into categories - Core, Legs, PlayTiles, Rails, and Accessories.

The Planning Space (center, green) - where you add and arrange the components into the table of your dreams. You can select either a top-down or bottom-up perspective.

The Print List (right, blue) - automatically populates with how many of each component you have used, total print time and filament per component and total print time and filament for the entire table.

Key Features

Key features/functionality of the tool...

User Profiles (red) - default time and filament used will be provided for each component but if you find those times/filament usage doesn't match up to yours, simply sign up/in, create a new profile and edit the time and filament usage of each component.

Component Details (green) - to help with assembly you can select a planning color for the component. Select components (ie. frame locks, tile locks, etc.) have an add all option which automatically adds 1 in each possible position on your table. See placement options below.

Rolling Total (blue) - automatically tracks total parts needed, total printing time for all components, and total filament you will need.

Placement Options

Placement Options (red) - select components will show you, via red highlight, where they may be placed as is the case here for the Tile Lock.

What's next for the Online Configuration Tool?

Now you are probably wondering the same thing we get asked at least a couple times a week...

When will the StageTop Online Configuration Tool be available?

We are targeting a late June release, but that is subject to change and outside our control as we are dependent on an outsourced partner. We want a solid tool that people can use, and it is going a bit slower than we had hoped. We are expecting a new build next week and will provide updates as we have news to share.

In the meantime, if you have any questions or would like to share or seek out printing tips, consider joining the StageTop 3D Printing Facebook Group or the StageTop Community Discord Server.

If you have any suggestions on what we should name the Online Configuration Tool, please feel free to leave a comment below.
